Undergraduate handbook 2004
Arts

Bachelor of Letters

Course code: 0202 + Clayton

Objectives

The course allows students to undertake a new specialisation at an undergraduate level over a relatively short period of time and receive recognition of this in terms of a formal qualification. The degree will normally take two years of full-time study to complete and will make available to candidates the full range of arts disciplines and interdisciplinary programs taught by schools in the Faculty of Arts. Part-time studies are also available.

Entry requirements

The degree is available only to applicants who have already completed an undergraduate degree. Interested applicants should contact the Arts faculty office for an application form.

Course structure

Students complete 96 points in arts disciplines including an arts major and at least 24 points at third-year level. Students may only include two first-year-level units that do not form part of a first-year sequence.

Note that disciplines offered by other faculties, including psychology, are not available.

Arts majors and minors

For information on majors and minors, refer to the `Areas of study' section on the Arts faculty website at http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/current/coursework/study_areas/. Hardcopies of this document are also available from faculty offices.
