Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Gerontics)

The Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Gerontics) course is offered by off-campus learning or by flexible mode (ie a combination of optional on-campus tutorials/seminars and off-campus learning modes). The course consists of a number of specialised gerontics units, which will normally be completed over a period of two years. Successful completion of the course requires completion of the specialised units.
Applicants would normally have a degree in nursing or a related discipline; registration with Nurses Board of Victoria (Division 1 or eligible for registration); and at least one year of nursing experience. Experience in the relevant area of practice is desirable.

At Peninsula, there will be a series of optional tutorials/seminars on campus throughout the semester to support study materials and clinical fieldwork.

Assessment

Assessment includes assignments, an individual student learning contract, program development, research proposal, examination, computer assessment and project.
