Graduate Certificate of Nursing (Children)*

The Graduate Certificate of Nursing (Children) offered by the School of Nursing aims to prepare specialist clinical nurses to be able to provide comprehensive care for children, and their families, within a variety of health care environments.

Applicants would normally have a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent; registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria (eg Division 1 or be eligible for registration); and at least one year of professional clinical experience. Special entry may be available.

Course structure

The Graduate Certificate of Nursing (Children) is a 24-credit-point course taught in conjunction with industry partners. The course is taught part-time over one year. Students are required to be working in a clinical area where they predominantly care for children and their families.

Assessment

Assessment includes clinical performance, case studies, written assignments, completion of learning packages and examinations.
