Graduate Certificate in Aeromedical Retrieval

This course is offered by the Centre for Ambulance and Paramedic Studies. It is open to ambulance and MICA paramedics, nurses and doctors who are employees of public or private aeromedical retrieval providers or with an interest in aeromedical retrieval. Ambulance participants are required to be qualified ambulance or MICA paramedics with a minimum of 12 months post-bachelor/diploma qualification clinical experience, and currently employed by either Rural Ambulance Victoria, Metropolitan Ambulance Service or private providers of aeromedical retrieval services. Nurse participants are required to have current registration as Division 1 nurses or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience. Doctor participants are required to be qualified with current full medical practitioner registration in Victoria or equivalent.

The course is offered on a part-time basis and is generally completed in 12 months. It comprises three core units and a single elective unit.
