Dean of Law delegations under university doctorate and higher doctorate regulations

Other powers under the `Doctorate regulations' are also allocated to the head of a school or dean of a faculty. Under regulation 3, those powers may be delegated to a senior member of the academic staff. The dean of Law has delegated all his powers under those regulations to the chair, Research Committee, other than the responsibility under regulation 3.4 of certifying that the thesis submitted by a staff candidate is properly presented and worthy of examination. The delegated functions relate to approval of such matters as application for admission to candidature; external candidates; changes in study program, appointment of supervisors; study away from the university; appointment of examiners; duration of candidature; and termination of candidature.
