Education

Advanced standing

Credit may be granted for work already completed at Monash University or at another tertiary institution, including overseas universities, or on the basis of recognition of prior learning (RPL). An application for RPL must be accompanied by an RPL portfolio. Applicants should apply for credit prior to enrolment, but currently enrolled students can also apply.
International students must apply for credit and/or RPL prior to enrolment.

Student advisers

All students in the faculty are encouraged to see their tutors or lecturers about any academic problems they may have.
Academic staff may also be approached.

Applications

(i) Preservice graduate diplomas

Prerequisites for pre-service graduate diplomas include completion of an approved degree or equivalent diploma and satisfying the requirements for method studies as outlined in the course handbook. Selection will be based on academic merit determined by GPA and/or other post-secondary academic record, the availability of supervision and teaching practice facilities, proof of English proficiency and supporting information submitted on a supplementary form.
Application for all pre-service graduate diploma courses should be made direct to VTAC (except for international students who apply through Monash International). Application forms are found in the VTAC guide, which can be obtained from Victorian newsagents from August, or via the VTAC website at http://www.vtac.edu.au. Applications should be submitted to VTAC by the end of September (late applications may be accepted on payment of a late fee.

(ii) Graduate and postgraduate programs

Applications for both on and off-campus study should be made direct to the Faculty of Education, except for those courses marked (*) in the following table. To obtain your direct application form from the faculty, contact the relevant campus.
