Master of Public Policy and Management

This course is designed for Australian and international graduates in the public and not-for-profit sectors, or government relations areas of private organisations. It focuses on understanding the policy-making and managerial processes of the public sector and provides the conceptual framework and analytical skills to identify problems and analyse alternative solutions. The course also focuses on understanding the political and social environment and provides expertise across a range of policy and management areas underpinning professional leadership skills in the public service.

Admission requirements

Applicants need to have completed:

Advanced standing

Candidates may be eligible for advanced standing for a maximum of eight units considered to be equivalent to particular requirements in the course of study and is restricted to study completed in the last five years. The program coordinator assesses advanced standing.

Course structure

In place of four electives, students may enrol in MGX5901 (Research report: introduction) (12 points) and MGX5900 (Research report) (12 points) (20,000-word research report).
