Graduate Certificate in Business Law

Course code: 3187 + Course abbreviation: GradCertBusLaw + Caulfield (some units may be offered at the Clayton campus) + On-campus + One semester full-time, two semesters part-time + Course director: Professor Richard Cullen; deputy course director: Associate Professor Robin Edwards + Total credit points required: 24

The certificate is a short course designed to provide a sound theoretical and practical knowledge in business law and to develop an understanding of and an ability to analyse a range of legal problems arising in the practice of business law. The course is of direct relevance to those involved in commerce, either as legal advisers, or in the private, commercial or government sectors. The course will enhance relevant skills for students seeking placements in legal commercial and governmental regulatory and compliance positions, especially in Australia and Asia.

Course structure

Students must complete four units (24 credit points) from the level 9000, 4000 or 5000 units available within the Master of Business Law course.

Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Business Law may apply for admission to the Master of Business Law (MBL) course.
