Masters Qualifying in Religion and Theology with a research component

Course code: 1988 + Mid-year entry available + Clayton + Program director: Constant Mews

Synopsis

This program provides an introduction to graduate study of religion and theology and training in research work, comparable to that provided by BA(Hons) in Religion and Theology. It will be especially useful for students coming back to study after time in the workforce who wish to acquaint themselves with recent debates in the study of religion and theology.

Entry requirements

Candidates holding a pass degree with a strong (credit-level average in the third part of a major) undergraduate background in one or more arts or theological disciplines.

Course structure

Students complete 48 points comprised of one research project, at least one methodology unit, and two electives chosen from the list below:

Students may apply to undertake units at level four at a tertiary institution, such as the Melbourne College of Divinity, approved by the director of the Centre for Studies in Religion and Theology. Under no circumstances may units taken outside Monash amount to more than 50 per cent.
