Master of Publishing and Editing
(1.5-year program)

Synopsis

The publishing industry is a significant employer of tertiary-educated and otherwise highly skilled staff in the long-established book and magazine sectors, and now also the electronic publishing sector. The Master of Publishing and Editing by coursework offers an opportunity to undertake a postgraduate qualification of special relevance.

Most of the classes in this course are taught in the Melbourne CBD. The Masters is usually completed in eighteen months of full-time or up to three years part-time study. Full-time students undertake 24 credit points per semester, while part-time students take 12 points per semester. Entry requirements

Candidates for admission would normally possess one of the following:

After successful completion of 24 points, students may apply to exit the program with a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and Editing, or after successful completion of 48 points with a Graduate Diploma in Publishing and Editing.

Course structure

Students complete 72 points of units, consisting of 48 points at level 4 and 24 points at level 5.

Minimum pass grade

To graduate with the Master of Publishing and Editing, students must gain a credit in core units and a credit average overall.
