Graduate Certificate in Exercise Medicine

Course code: 2871 + Monash Institute of Reproduction and Development, Monash Medical Centre, Clayton + Full-fee-paying course: $5200 (Australian residents); $7500 (international students) + No attendance is required

Aims

The course is designed to provide training in scientifically-validated and clinically-relevant health benefits and risks of exercise for all sectors of the population. It is designed for those professionals in the community who are best placed to prescribe exercise for health purposes. These include general practitioners, nurses, exercise scientists, physical education teachers, professional physical training instructors, physiotherapists and pharmacists.

Entry requirements

Entry will be open to graduates with a relevant pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.

Course structure

The course is conducted entirely via off-campus learning over one or two years part-time or six months full-time.

Major studies

Assessment

Assessment consists of journal submission, discussion papers and assessable questions.
