The discipline

The School of Applied Sciences offers a major sequence in applied biology and a minor sequence in human physiology. The major sequence in applied biology studies in biochemistry, microbiology and molecular biology, and has a strong emphasis on modern experimental techniques and their relevant medical, industrial and environmental applications.

The minor sequence in human physiology looks at the relationship between structure and function in the human body. This sequence complements the applied biology and psychology major sequences.

Applied biology

Minor sequence in applied biology (24 points):

• BIO1711 and BIO1722, and
• any two of BTH2746, BTH2757, BTH2766 and BTH2777.

Major sequence in applied biology (48 points):

• BIO1711 and BIO1722, and
• any two or three of BTH2746, BTH2757, BTH2766 and BTH2777, and
• any 18 or 24 remaining points from BTH3746, BTH3757, BTH3776, BTH3787, BTH3797 and CHM3736.

Human physiology

Minor sequence in human physiology (24 points):

• BIO1711 and BIO1722, and
• BIO2717 and BIO2726.
