Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Economics

The following should be read in conjunction with the degree regulations of the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor of Economics. The double-degree course of Bachelor of Arts /Bachelor of Economics requires a minimum of four years of full-time study, or five years for a degree with honours, or the equivalent in part-time study. Students must complete units to the value of a minimum of 192 credit points subject to the following conditions.
(a) 96 points (16 units) must be chosen from units offered by the Faculty of Business and Economics (Clayton) and must include:
(i) Completion of the following compulsory units:

(ii) Students must also either complete two additional second-year level and three third-year level units drawn from the department of Economics (Clayton) to complete a major sequence in economics; or complete a major sequence of studies in Econometrics and Business Statistics (Clayton), which requires students to complete a total of 48 points of study in this discipline with at least 12 points in second year and 18 points in third year.
(iii) A maximum of eight first-year-level units (48 credit points). In order to meet this requirement, students are able to undertake the second year versions of the appropriate number of compulsory units
(b) 96 points (16 units) must be chosen from the Faculty of Arts, of which at least 24 points must be at third-year level, and which must include one major sequence (48 points), one minor sequence (24 points) and a third first-year sequence from units offered in the Bachelor of Arts degree.
(c) Overall, a maximum of 84 points (14 units) of first-year-level units.
Students must have their program of study approved by the course coordinator or the course coordinator's nominee prior to commencement of the relevant year.
