Unless otherwise stated in the `Outline of undergraduate studies' section of this publication, admission prerequisites to Faculty of Business and Economics courses are:
For Berwick, Gippsland and Peninsula courses, students require: Units 1 and 2 - any two units from general mathematics and/or mathematical methods. Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in English (any).
For courses at Caulfield, students require: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in both English (any) and mathematics (any).
For courses at Clayton, students require: Units 3 and 4 - a study score of at least 25 in both English (any) and in one of Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics.
Mathematics requirement: GCE O Level, Year 11 or the equivalent.
English requirements are one of: IELTS 6.5 with at least 6 in each band, TOEFL
580 with TWE 5, computer-based TOEFL 237 with an essay rating 5, GCE A Level
General Paper (English) grade C, VCE English (any) units 3 and 4 score 25,
English is the first language, English was the language of instruction in
secondary and/or tertiary studies.
The Bachelor of Business and Commerce at South Africa requires a total of 44 points for the South African Senior School Certificate, with satisfactory scores in English and Mathematics.
The diversity within the faculty is reflected in the range of undergraduate courses offered. Bachelors degrees that can be undertaken in the faculty are set out in Table 1.

The double-degree programs offered by this faculty and by other faculties of the university are shown in Table 3. During the course of study, a candidate may elect to continue studies for one degree only. In this event, the candidate shall discontinue studies for one degree and with the approval of the faculty board which administers the degree to be continued, he or she shall complete the course of study for the other degree in accordance with any conditions or requirements and within the time period specified and approved by that faculty board.

The Bachelor of Economics allows significant flexibility in the choice of units from other disciplines or faculties, so by appropriate choice of units a second degree in arts, science or computing and also commerce can be completed after the equivalent of a further year's full-time study.
Students undertaking any of the Bachelor of Business degrees with a
specified major have the opportunity to take out a second business degree in
another specialisation with the completion of a minimum of eight additional
units in one year's further study.
