Course code: 0530 + Clayton + Administered by the Faculty of Science
The combined course for the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees enables students to take out both degrees after four years of study. Students complete 192 points of study in core arts and science components.
To satisfy the arts component of the double degree, students must complete
96 arts points (studies drawn from disciplines offered by schools in the
Faculty of Arts), including at least a major, a minor and a further 24 points.
From 2003 students undertaking the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science can
choose to count geography units and/or psychology units within either the Arts
or the Science components of the double degree.
For further details, see `Outline of undergraduate studies - Clayton' in the
Faculty of Science entry of this handbook.
Note that it is possible to graduate from the Bachelor of Arts before
completing all double degree requirements. To graduate from the Bachelor of
Arts component of the double degree, students must have satisfied the above BA
component requirements as well as successfully completed studies to the total
value of 144 points (students are permitted to count up to 48 points of science
units towards those 144 points). Students must also complete at least 36 points
at third-year level. No more than 60 points at first-year level may be counted.
