Course code: 0116 + Clayton + Administered by the Faculty of Engineering
A combined course for the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Engineering is taken concurrently over a minimum period of five years. Students complete between 242 and 256 points of study in core arts and engineering components depending on the specific branch of engineering taken (civil, materials, mechanical, chemical, or electrical and computer systems).
To satisfy the arts component of the double degree, students must complete
96 arts points (studies drawn from disciplines offered by schools in the
Faculty of Arts), including a major, a minor, another first-year sequence and a
further 12 points.
For further details, see `Outline of undergraduate studies - Clayton' in the
Faculty of Engineering entry of this handbook.
Note that it is possible to graduate from the Bachelor of Arts before
completing all double degree requirements. To graduate from the Bachelor of
Arts component of the double degree, students must have satisfied the above BA
component requirements as well as successfully completed studies to the total
value of 144 points (ie students count up to 48 points of engineering units
towards those 144 points). Students must also complete at least 36 points at
third-year level. No more than 60 points at first-year level may be counted.
