Master of Pharmaceutical Science

The Master of Pharmaceutical Science (MPharmSc) is open to students who have (a) qualified for the degree of Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science (Honours) of the university; (b) qualified in this or another university for any other degree which in the opinion of the college board is suitable preparation for the candidate's proposed field of study; or (c) qualifications and experience which in the opinion of the college board are a suitable preparation for the candidate's proposed field of study.

The notional duration for the degree of Master of Pharmaceutical Science is two years. It is recognised that the time may be shortened if the candidate has pursued an honours degree. For full-time candidates, the thesis can be submitted following not less than 12 and not more than 36 months of study.
Students are not precluded from nominating the area in which they wish to pursue their studies, but this is often conditional upon the availability of materials, equipment and supervisors. Often a student is advised to consult with the head of department or the associate dean (Graduate Studies) in relation to their final choice of topic.
Students considering undertaking this course are requested to contact the faculty office at the college, requesting an application form. Studies for the MPharmSc degree normally commence in March of each year.
