The Department of Chemical Engineering offers a Graduate Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology (GradDipPPT) at Clayton. It is expected that most recruits to this course will be drawn from graduates of three-year science degrees who have been employed in the pulp and paper industry. The course may have particular appeal to graduates from developing countries.
The department believes that there is a need for the course because many of
three-year science degree graduates are employed in the pulp and paper
industry.
The course for the Graduate Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology will comprise
a selection of units to the value of at least 48 credit points offered for the
Master of Engineering Science (Coursework and Minor Thesis) program in pulp and
paper technology. Some candidates may need to undertake preliminary studies in
some areas.
The actual unit selection for each candidate for the diploma will be arranged
in consultation with the academic staff of the department and must be approved
by the head of the department. Unit outlines for the units selected may be
found in the `Units - all faculties' section of this publication in the range
CHE5160 to CHE5168. Note that the entry codes for these units when taken for
the GradDipPPT are CHE9160 to CHE9168.
