Graduate diplomas in engineering are awarded for the successful completion of a course at the advanced engineering undergraduate level which is aimed at broadening the education of a graduate engineer into areas which may not have previously been studied during the undergraduate training.
In order to qualify for a graduate diploma in engineering, a student is
required to complete successfully coursework, which will in general be at the
advanced undergraduate level, to the value of 48 credit points. The course
normally extends over two years of part-time study but may be undertaken in a
shorter time by full-time study. The Graduate Diploma in Engineering
Maintenance Management may only be studied on a part-time basis by off-campus
learning (distance education) mode. It is possible for graduate certificate
students at Gippsland to articulate to the Graduate Diploma in Engineering
Maintenance Management and then to the masters degree in that discipline.
