This masters program recognises the fundamental importance of risk management in today's commercial world and seeks to provide graduates with extended skills in these areas. This course will prepare students for the increasingly complex risk management issues that they will face when employed in many areas of business and in government agencies. The course also provides education in the area of risk management and related topics appropriate for practitioners seeking to meet professional education requirements or to update their knowledge in specific risk management areas. It is also appropriate for people working in other business, financial planning or investment areas who regularly deal with risk management issues and those who wish to complete a preliminary course of risk management studies.
Applicants require a pass degree or a Graduate Diploma in Risk Management
with an average grade of credit or above, or equivalent qualification, and a
minimum of two years experience in an area of work approved by the course
director as relevant to the course of study. Candidates may be eligible for a
maximum of six exemptions for units considered equivalent to particular units
in the course of study. Refer to the course director for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Department of
Accounting and Finance as to the 2003 course fee. Course fees are set and
reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
