Hispanic studies

Supervision of research candidates is available. Refer to the Arts research section for course details. Areas of research specialisation include applied Spanish linguistics, culture and civilisation of the Hispanic world, feminist literature in the Hispanic world, 19th and 20th-century Spanish American literature and culture, 19th and 20th-century Spanish literature, postmodernism, pre-Columbian literature and culture, Spanish socio- linguistics, and Latin American popular culture. Hispanic studies conducts its own fortnightly seminars in literary theory attended by both staff and postgraduate students.
