This
one-year part-time course offered by the School of Nursing is designed for
registered nurses who wish to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to care
for people with psychiatric and mental health problems. The course is offered
by off-campus distributed learning mode and makes extensive use of computer
technology to facilitate communication between students, teaching staff,
clinical experts and consumers.
Applicants would normally have a degree in nursing or a related discipline;
registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria (Division 1, 3 or 4, or eligible
for registration); and at least one year of nursing experience. Special entry
may be available.
Assessment includes assignments, skills assessment, computer conferencing and exams.
