This
course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine,
targets the needs of health personnel and those in the pharmaceutical industry
who need to design, execute and evaluate clinical trials. The course is
completed in one year part-time. It is not offered on a full-time basis. This
degree provides the core competencies in epidemiology, biostatistics and
clinical trials issues and articulates with the Graduate Diploma in Clinical
Epidemiology and then the Master of Clinical Epidemiology or the Master of
Public Health.
Applicants must have a medical degree, a bachelors degree with honours or
graduate diploma, or a three-year bachelors degree with at least two years
relevant professional experience in a health-related field. The department will
individually assess applications from students without a three-year degree but
with extensive relevant professional experience.
This course is comprised of four core units.
Assessment includes written assignments, examinations and individual presentations.
