Introduction to the faculty

Monash Law's postgraduate program endeavours to provide further education to lawyers and non-lawyers to assist them to update their skills, specialise in specific areas of the law, undertake research and move into a career in law.
The program curriculum includes Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Laws, Master of Laws (LLM), masters for non-lawyers, graduate diplomas, graduate certificates and single-unit enrolments (assessed and non-assessed). The LLM program offers both coursework and research options.
The majority of classes are held at city premises, either at the university city offices at 30 Collins Street, Melbourne, or at selected law firms. Some classes are offered at the Clayton campus, with student facilities such as computer laboratories, study corels, common room and library all located at this campus. Some units are offered online or in flexible delivery mode.
The administration of the postgraduate coursework program is handled by the Graduate Studies Officer at the Clayton campus, under the direction of the director, Postgraduate Program. The research program is administered by the Research Office, under the guidance of the associate dean (research).
The faculty also houses its research centres at the Clayton campus, including the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law, the Centre for Law in the Digital Economy, the Centre for the Study of Privatisation and Public Accountability and the International Institute of Forensic Studies.
