Graduate Certificate in Human Resources

The Graduate Certificate in Human Resources is designed primarily for graduates from a range of disciplines who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the area of managing employment relations, including human resource management and industrial relations.
Applicants require a pass degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Applicants without a first degree who have a minimum of six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the section on executive certificates. Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of two credit exemptions for units considered to be equivalent to particular units in the course of study. Credit is restricted to study completed in the last five years. Refer to the course director for further details.
This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the Faculty of Business and Economics -- Gippsland as to the 2002 course fee. Course fees are set and reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
Students who successfully complete the Graduate Certificate in Human Resources may apply for admission to either the Graduate Diploma in Human Resources or the Graduate Diploma of Business (Management).

Course structure*

The Graduate Certificate in Human Resources consists of two core units and two elective units normally taken over two semesters of study as follows:

Electives must be chosen from graduate units taught by the Department of Management, other departments in the Faculty of Business and Economics, or other faculties of Monash University, with course director approval.
Please note that students considering articulation into the Graduate Diploma in Human Resources should undertake the first-year units specified for that course.
