The course provides an overview of Australian publishing and its various forms,
both historical and contemporary. Students should develop an understanding of
the key dimensions of professional skill inherent in the publishing production
process and develop skills in the preparation of text for publication. A
critical awareness of new forms of publishing, especially electronic publishing
and multimedia, and an understanding of the forms of expression in the
publishing industries will be taught so that students can better comprehend the
enduring role of text in the publishing and electronic media.

is usually completed with one year full-time or 18 months to two years
part-time study.
