Graduate Certificate in Public History*

General information

This course offers a vocational program for historians and related professionals. Graduates may go on to work in the fields of commissioned history, heritage conservation and management, oral history, community history, museums and related areas. The program has excellent links with the heritage industry and professional historians working in these fields.
The classes will be taught on the Clayton campus. The duration of the course is one semester full-time.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a bachelors degree. Those without an undergraduate degree but with a teaching qualification and demonstrable professional experience in line with current practice may be admitted.

Advanced standing

Applicants may be given credit for appropriate successfully completed consortium-auspiced professional development programs.
