Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have completed an honours degree in politics or a related discipline with at least an H2B result; or masters qualifying in politics or a related discipline with at least an H2B result; or a postgraduate diploma in politics or a related discipline with at least a credit average.

Course structure

Candidates must successfully complete four of the semester-length units listed below. The period of candidature is one year full-time or two years part- time.

• PLM5220 Abstract communities: from tribalism to globalism
• PLM5290 China: the quest for modernisation
• PLM5310 Globalism and governance
• PLM5320 Republicanism and constitutionalism in Australia
• PLM5390 Grand theories of politics
• PLM5480 Culture, norms and ideas in international politics
• PLM5520 Perspectives on world politics
• PLM5600 Strategic studies: a critical introduction
• PLM5620 Research project (politics)
• PLM5700 Green political theory
• PLM5800 Australian national government

Note that the minimum pass grade for units in the Master of Arts in Politics is 60 C, ie a grade of credit or above is required in every unit.
