Course code: 3411 + Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, Southbank + Full-fee-paying course: $4800 (Australian residents); $6450 (international students) + Attendance compulsory for some units
The Department of Forensic Medicine offers this course on a part-time basis over 12 months. This course provides an introduction to aspects of clinical forensic medicine. The program will enable students to develop knowledge and skills in a particular component of forensic practice. Hence, the graduate certificate is a useful starting point for practitioners contemplating or commencing forensic medical practice, or for those practising in a specific field of forensic medicine.
Applicants must be graduates with the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BS) from an Australian university, or equivalent, and have at least three years experience in clinical medicine.
Students will be required to attend the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine for one week during the course.

Assessment includes written assignments, case studies, case books and oral presentations.
Candidates who have other equivalent qualifications may apply for exemption of certain units. Each case will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
