This program focuses on reliability engineering and its application to optimise
availability of systems. Students are mostly from the defence forces,
defence-related industries, aerospace and process industry. Some of the content
that applies to asset management is included in the Graduate Diploma of
Engineering Maintenance Management and the Master of Maintenance and
Reliability Engineering, along with other topics such as machine condition
monitoring/predictive maintenance.
Applicants are required to have a four-year degree, or diploma in engineering or similar field, or a three-year degree from an approved institution, or other academic or industry-based training and relevant industrial experience that may be judged to give a good chance of success in the course. For applicants who do not have a degree, a resume (ie CV) detailing the applicant's industrial experience and certified by the applicant's employer must also be lodged with application. Details of responsibility level are helpful (ie budget, number of staff and value of assets for which the applicant is responsible).
Upon passing the graduate certificate program, students may undertake the Graduate Certificate in Maintenance Management. If average grades of 65 per cent or above are achieved, students may articulate into the Master of Maintenance and Reliability Engineering.
