Aims

• Prepare a cost-effectiveness analysis of a drug.
• Apply economic modelling to support the inclusion or exclusion of a drug on a national or hospital formulary.
• Design a clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of drugs.
• Apply methods of evaluating health and non-health outcome of drug use.

Special requirements

Access to a PC and the internet.

Course structure

The course consists of four units offered in a sequence over a 12-month period in four study periods.

Assessment

Assessment requirements consist of assignments, examinations and presentations.

Advanced standing for previous studies

Exemptions based on prior learning will be granted for two units only (conditions apply).
