Bachelor of Education (Honours)

The honours degree in education requires an additional year of study following the completion of the requirements of an initial education degree.
Following completion of the BEd(Hons) degree, students will have:

Admission requirements

Students will be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree within three years of the year of completion of an undergraduate education degree (eg BA/BEd, BPrimEd). Normally, students must achieve an average grade of distinction or higher in the compulsory and elective subjects of the undergraduate education degree.

Course structure

To receive the award of the Bachelor of Education (Honours), a candidate must successfully complete studies equivalent to 48 points consisting of coursework studies (24 points) and an honours thesis of approximately 10,000 words (24 points).

Length of course/workload required

This course may be taken either full-time or part-time. The expected number of hours per week is 48 for a full-time student, and 24 for a part-time student.
