Bachelor of Arts (International Communication)/Bachelor of Business and Commerce*

* SUBJECT TO APPROVAL FOR 2001.
The BA (International Communication) is built around three components -- international studies, communication studies and language and cultural studies. It is designed to give students an understanding of the past while looking to the future through an understanding of new technologies and organisational forms. The BBusCom is the global degree of the Faculty of Business and Economics. It is designed to give students a grounding in the core business disciplines, a major in a selected field of study, plus a recommended professional specialisation. Thus, the course has a strong vocational orientation while retaining the flexibility of the traditional commerce degree. The majors offered at Peninsula are accounting, international business and management. The double degree reinforces the international focus of the individual degrees; for example, the languages professional specialisation in the international trade major of the BBusCom is strongly synergistic with the language and cultural studies component of the BA(IC).
