Bachelor of Arts (Social Science)

The BA (Social Science) is designed for students wishing to augment the objectives of the general BA with specialised knowledge of the various dimensions of society, the factors and forces constituting social activities, institutions and policies, and the distinctive characteristics of social science as an approach to knowledge.

Course structure

Students are required to complete two majors, selected from anthropology, economics*, economic history*, geography and environmental science, history, linguistics, politics, philosophy, psychology*, sociology, and women's and gender research, and a further points from any other discipline offered in the Faculty of Arts. Students who elect to do a major in psychology (or economics or economic history) must select their other major from subjects offered by the Faculty of Arts.
