Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Children)


General information

This course is designed to respond to the need within industry for specialist nurses who are able to care for the ill child and family. An extensive and diverse range of clinical experience is offered, incorporating children of varying age, with a wide range of health care needs and levels of acuity, within the hospital and the community.

Entry requirements

Successful applicants will normally have a degree, a current RN practising certificate and at least one year of professional clinical experience. Special entry to the course is available.

Course structure

Students will be required to undertake three elective subjects and five specialist subjects, for a total of eight subjects. Students may enrol full-time and complete the course in one year. Alternatively, in a part-time enrolment, students will normally complete the course in two years. Subjects are scheduled in a manner which enables the students to undertake part-time employment.
