The degree of Master of Arts is a research degree for which the thesis is the
research, development and conclusion of a new, major body of creative work(s)/
design. This new body of work(s)/design is accompanied by comprehensive visual
and written documentation, or a paper in partial fulfilment relevant to the
research topic accompanied by visual documentation with written summary, and is
examined by documentation and exhibition.
Applicants for the research degree of Master of Arts should have qualified for
an honours degree in the relevant field or equivalent and/or, in some cases,
provide evidence of a significant previous record as a practising artist or
designer as demonstrated by exhibition, publication and acquisition. Students
may enrol on a full-time or part-time basis.
