General information

Course code: JCPEPC Victorian College of Pharmacy, Parkville campus Full-fee paying course: amenities fee $131; course fee $5200 (additional charges to international students apply)

Aims

• Prepare a cost effectiveness analysis of a drug.
• Apply economic modelling to support the inclusion or exclusion of a drug on a national or hospital formulary.
• Design a clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and cost of effectiveness of drugs.
• Apply methods of evaluating health and non-health outcome of drug use.

Special requirements

Access to a PC and the internet.

Course structure

The course consists of four units offered in a sequence over a 12-month period in four study periods.

Assessment

Assessment requirements consist of assignments, examinations and presentations.

Credits/exemptions

Exemptions based on prior learning will be granted for two units only (conditions apply).
