Master of Family Medicine (Clinical)


General information

Course code: 2676 Department of Community Medicine and General Practice, East Bentleigh, Victoria Full-fee-paying course: $14,300 (Australian residents); $18,700 (international students)

Aims

The aim of this 72-credit-point degree is to provide general practitioners with the opportunity to master their clinical skills within a general practice setting.

Entry requirements

Students should have completed the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine.

Attendance

A number of units will require students to visit the department for a weekend workshop. Some units have an optional one weekend workshop.

Course structure

The course is conducted over 18 months full-time or three years part-time. The coursework includes two compulsory core units as listed below together with six elective units which are similar to those offered in the Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine:

Assessment

Assessment will include coursework participation, formal assignments and projects.

Professional recognition

Recognition of prior learning is available to those who hold the FRACGP qualification or equivalent.
