Graduate Certificate in Medical Acupuncture


General information

Course code: 2678 Department of Community Medicine and General Practice, East Bentleigh Full-fee-paying course: $4620 (Australian residents); $ 7150 (international students) Attendance is compulsory for some units

Aims

This course offered by the Department of Community Medicine and General Practice will bring medical practitioners who study medical acupuncture to a stage where they can practise acupuncture competently and safely within the community.

Entry requirements

The course is available to registered medical practitioners engaged in full or part-time general practice.

Attendance

Two compulsory weekend workshops (15 hours each). Some units have an optional one-weekend workshop.

Course structure

The course is conducted over one year, consisting of two part-time semesters. Students are required to complete the following units:

Assessment

Assessment will include coursework participation, assignments, formal examination and 30 hours of clinical supervision, including attendance at two compulsory weekend workshops (15 hours each).

Credits/exemptions

Candidates who have other equivalent qualifications may apply for exemption for certain units in the graduate certificate course. Each case will be considered on its merits.
