Distance education students normally study part-time taking two units per semester, half the on-campus load, due to their work and other commitments. This means that to achieve a qualification by distance education, most students take twice as long as they would on-campus. Students requiring Austudy or wishing to increase their study load need to negotiate directly with their faculty. In agreed circumstances, students may also study a lesser load.
