The course involves four years of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time or distance education.

Admission requirements

(a) Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)

Satisfactory completion of the VCE, with a study score of at least 25 in English units 3 and 4, plus any two units from General Mathematics and Mathematical Methods at the unit 1 and 2.

(b) Comparable qualifications

Applicants may also satisfy entrance requirements on the basis of qualifications deemed to be the equivalent of the above VCE. TAFE qualifications (eg the first year of a TAFE associate diploma or a TAFE qualification that satisfies the first year of a TAFE associate diploma) or comparable Year 12 qualifications, including International Baccalaureate or approved tertiary-level study completed in Victoria, other states of Australia or overseas, may satisfy entry requirements.

(c) Special admission

Students who have completed the first year of the normal Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Business at the Gippsland campus with good academic results may be admitted to the second year of the double degree with full credit for appropriate first-year studies.
Students who have not successfully completed VCE or equivalent may satisfy entry requirements by completing at least two Monash non-award single subjects or open learning (OLA) subjects. Course structure

The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business is normally taken over four years of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time or distance education study. Students are required to complete a minimum of 192 credit points, meeting the following requirements.
(a) Completion of the following core business subjects with a total credit value of 42 credit points (seven subjects):

(b) Completion of the following two subjects covering information transfer and problem-solving in science and interdisciplinary perspectives on science and technology:

(c) Completion of a sequence of study of at least 36 credit points and two submajors of at least 24 credit points each in any business discipline areas; or completion of two sequences of at least 36 credit points each in two business discipline areas. Business studies are available in the following discipline areas:

(d) Completion of science discipline sequences consisting of (i) a science major sequence (excluding computing) of at least 48 points, structured as follows:

(ii) a science minor sequence in a second discipline, consisting of 12 points at level one, and 12 points at levels two and three, and (iii) at least one level-one subject from one of the following groups:

This subject is to be drawn from a different group from those which include the two chosen science discipline sequences in (i) and (ii). The science discipline sequences may be chosen from applied biology, applied statistics, chemical and analytical sciences, mathematics and modelling, psychology, resource and environmental management, and computing (minor only). (e) Undertake any additional studies required to complete the minimum 192 credit points needed for the double degree.
