The BA (International Communication) is designed to develop in students skills
to survive in a rapidly changing work environment. The degree has three
components: a stream in international studies, a stream in communication
studies and a language and cultural studies stream - a language chosen from
Japanese, Business Chinese or Indonesian.
The Bachelor of Arts (International Communication) is similar in structure to
the Bachelor of Arts, although it consists wholly of six-point subjects.
Students must complete a total of 144 points including a compulsory major
sequence in international studies or communications studies and two minor
sequences in specified areas.
The structure of the degree is a 54-point compulsory major in either
international studies or communications (including 24 points at third-year
level), plus two minor sequences of 30 points (which are not in the compulsory
major sequence) in either international studies, communication studies, Chinese
language, Indonesian language or Japanese language, plus the 30 remaining
points from subjects in the Arts faculty or another faculty.
