General information

Studies offered by the faculty are described in the next section under the following headings:

Application for all postgraduate degree courses should be made direct to the faculty or to the Distance Education Centre for those courses offered by distance education mode through the centre. These courses are indicated by an asterisk (*).

Part-time studies

Many faculty programs can be taken on a part-time basis. Preservice part-time Graduate Diploma of Education classes are offered by distance education or on campus. Postgraduate studies are delivered flexibly with classes being timetabled in the early evening (eg 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm) or increasingly through summer and winter schools, distance education or via online delivery.

Credit provision

Applicants should complete a skills portfolio, based on the criteria outlined under the heading 'Credit provision' of the faculty entry, which outlines their previous qualifications and experience, and this will determine level of advanced standing. Applicants should prepare their portfolio in line with the details outlined in the booklet Learning From Experience. This booklet is available from the Professional Development Institute, Faculty of Education, Peninsula campus, Monash University, McMahon's Road, Frankston 3199, at a cost of $7 plus postage.
