The Graduate Certificate in Regional Economic Development is designed
specifically for people in business and state or local governmental
institutions who currently hold a university degree and wish to upgrade their
skills and knowledge in the theoretical principles and policies of regional
economic development.
Applicants require a pass degree or an equivalent qualification from a
recognised tertiary institution. A key selection criterion will be an
assessment of whether the applicant possesses the experience and ability to
successfully complete the course. Applicants without a first degree who have a
minimum of six years appropriate employment experience should refer to the
section on executive certificates.
Candidates may be eligible for a maximum of two credit exemptions for subjects
considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the course of study.

This is a fee-paying course. Candidates should consult the School of Business
and Electronic Commerce as to the 2000 course fee. Course fees are set and
reviewed annually and are therefore subject to change.
The course consists of the following four core subjects:
