The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is undertaken by thesis. The research
program in Art and Design is one that specifically derives from the production
of creative work(s)/design(s). The examination is by visual thesis with
accompanying documentation of 30,000 words. Students may enrol as full-time or
part-time candidates.
Applicants are required to have qualified for an honours degree (upper level)
or a masters degree and preferably be able to demonstrate attainment as a
practising artist, craftsperson or designer.
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is administered by the university's PhD
