Aims

The course aims to prepare rural health care practitioners for positions of leadership in research, clinical practice, teaching and management.

Professional recognition

This course will help advance the career options of rural health care practitioners from various disciplines.

Entry requirements

Candidates are selected on the basis of academic and professional merit. Initial entry through the graduate diploma is required.

Special requirements

Access to personal computer facilities and email is essential. Residential attendance is not required.

Course structure

This course has been structured as a coursework and minor thesis or advanced clinical practice masters degree. The eight part-time semesters will include the first two years of initial completion of the Graduate Diploma of Rural Health. Masters students will then complete a related coursework double subject and a minor thesis or an advanced clinical practice project.

Credits/exemptions

Full credit for the Graduate Diploma of Rural Health constitutes the first two years of the masters program. There will be no more than 25 per cent of total credit granted for subjects previously completed in other approved courses. These subjects must have a close correlation with subjects offered within the Master of Rural Health.
