Aims

This unique course has been especially designed to provide a national masters level course tailored specifically to the retail and wholesale industry.
The course is delivered entirely by distance education and is suitable for experienced retail managers who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Retail and Wholesale Management. The Master of Business (Retail and Wholesale) comprises a further four subjects.

Course structure

The course is a two-year part-time fee paying program suitable for experienced retail managers who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Retail and Wholesale Management. In the first year of the course participants complete:

Each subject is worth six credit points in the Master of Business (Retail and Wholesale).
The course progression is designed to develop and build upon students' understanding of issues specifically relevant to retail and wholesale marketing in the first three semesters and then to consolidate and further develop the concepts and principles learnt throughout the course through the major project in the final semester.
In all subjects, the course content and assessment will relate to workplace applications in a retail\wholesale business.

Entry requirements

Applicants will have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Retail and Wholesale Management with a credit average or above, or an honours degree in a relevant discipline.

Selection procedures

Selection for entry into the course will be based on applicants meeting the admission requirements as above.

Credits/exemptions

Candidates may be eligible for credit for up to 50 per cent of the course where they have completed subjects considered to be equivalent to particular subjects in the Master of Business (Retail and Wholesale). Where candidates have completed subjects similar in content, but not equivalent to, particular subjects in the course, the course director may request another suitable subject be substituted.

Costs and dates

The 1999 cost of each subject is $1200. This is subject to review at any time.
Intake into the program will be in March and July each year. Applications should be made well in advance.
