Guidelines for applying

Undergraduate entry

The standard of entry to Monash is high but varies between courses. Specific subjects are required for entry to some courses. Please check specific course requirements.
Certified copies of translated academic transcripts must be forwarded with your application.
All courses have an English language proficiency requirement which may be met by satisfactory performance in TOEFL, IELTS, A-Level Use of English or the General paper.
Acceptable entry qualifications, depending on grades and individual subject requirements, include GCE and Hong Kong 'A' levels, STPM (Malaysia), Ontario Grade 13, International Baccalaureate and tertiary entrance examinations of the various states in Australia. Students may also be considered for admission on the basis of successful completion of the first year of a tertiary course.

Postgraduate entry

Applicants for postgraduate degrees at Monash should possess a sound (bachelors) degree from a recognised higher education institute in Australia or overseas. You should forward a fully translated academic transcript in addition to the certified copy of the degree certificate.

Payment of fees

The full fee for the subjects in any semester must be paid on approval of the application and the acceptance of an offer of the place. If you decide to withdraw from the course after enrolment the university reserves the right to withhold a proportion of fees paid in accordance with the Australian National Refund Policy. If you fail a subject and need to repeat it, you will have to pay for that subject again. All payments are to be made by bank draft in Australian dollars payable to Monash University.
