A prize of $200 and a certificate is awarded annually to the top microbiology honours student.

Australian Society for Microbiology Prize

This award is made to the top student in both second and third-year Microbiology, on the recommendation of the head of department.

Yakult Prize for General Excellence in Microbiology

This prize of $250 is to be awarded annually for a top student in third-year microbiology. The assessment will be made on the basis of examinations, essays and practical work and be nominated by the head of department.
