Student grievance procedures are available within the Faculty of Medicine for
any student who believes she or he has a grievance against the faculty, and
where procedures for resolution of that grievance are not provided for by other
means.
Students should first discuss any concern with the staff member involved or the
course coordinator. If a student is unable to resolve a grievance by other
means, she or he should contact the head, School of Nursing or director, Centre
for Graduate Studies in Clinical Nursing and explain in writing the basis of
the grievance.
The dean of medicine or the faculty manager will attempt to negotiate a
successful resolution to the grievance if satisfaction is not obtained through
the head of the relevant school or centre. If required a complaint will be
heard and resolved by the faculty's grievance committee.
The details of the formal procedures relating to grievances are available from
the faculty office.
The manager for student relations and inquiries receives complaints from students about administrative matters and is charged with investigating and settling complaints.
